About The Position

Morton Salt has an immediate opening for an Electrician at its Rittman, Ohio location. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday on second shift, with weekend overtime required as needed. The Electrician installs and maintains electrical equipment and performs a broad range of electrical maintenance, repair, installation, and troubleshooting work. The role also includes instructing less-skilled workers, maintaining tools and equipment, and keeping the work area orderly.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read electrical blueprints and diagrams.
Ability to perform all types of troubleshooting.
Journeyman certification or equivalent training or experience.

Responsibilities

Install conduit, calculate wire sizes, pull and wire conductors, install control equipment, align and install motors and generators, and provide power to them.
Maintain and clean motors and install bearings.
Locate and correct line faults and grounds.
Install and repair electrical generating equipment, including battery chargers.
Maintain, repair, and install power transmission lines.
Maintain, repair, and install substations, power centers, distribution and control centers, including structures and switchgear rated from 69 kilovolts down.
Maintain and repair passenger and freight elevators.
Maintain and repair electronic equipment, vibrators, and controls, including tube and solid-state equipment.
Use complicated wiring diagrams and stay knowledgeable about modern electrical equipment and developments.
Instruct workers with less skill and ensure work is accurate enough to comply with National Electric Code standards.
Maintain personal and company tools and equipment in good operating condition and keep the work area neat, clean, and orderly.
Perform other job-related duties as required.
