Responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining the bulk of the electrical equipment used in the process area and labs and supporting utilities in IAPI. They need to have a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code. They also need a mechanical aptitude and a good understanding of complex electromechanical devices. Be able to troubleshoot systems by understanding the electrical equipment and systems. Such as: single and three phase circuits and their controls, breakers, motor contacts, power and control relays, DC and AC motors and their controls, transformer operations, lighting circuits, heat tracing, fuse changes, breaker resets, Motor control centers, Main switch gear, UPS systems, programmable logic controllers, lamp replacements, grounding checks. Also have the knowledge to install / maintain switches, fuses, cables, breakers, light fixtures, raceways, conduit, disconnects. Also have skills in using test equipment (Calibration Standards, Flukes, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes, Amp probes, Megger, Power Analyzer and DVM Etc.)
