About The Position

Responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining the bulk of the electrical equipment used in the process area and labs and supporting utilities in IAPI. They need to have a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code. They also need a mechanical aptitude and a good understanding of complex electromechanical devices. Be able to troubleshoot systems by understanding the electrical equipment and systems. Such as: single and three phase circuits and their controls, breakers, motor contacts, power and control relays, DC and AC motors and their controls, transformer operations, lighting circuits, heat tracing, fuse changes, breaker resets, Motor control centers, Main switch gear, UPS systems, programmable logic controllers, lamp replacements, grounding checks. Also have the knowledge to install / maintain switches, fuses, cables, breakers, light fixtures, raceways, conduit, disconnects. Also have skills in using test equipment (Calibration Standards, Flukes, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes, Amp probes, Megger, Power Analyzer and DVM Etc.)

Requirements

  • Have completed a (4) year Apprenticeship in the trade or equivalent work experience.
  • Candidates must meet the area-specific Functional Job Description and Post Offer Exam requirements.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Must possess basic electrical skills have strong electrical and mechanical aptitude

Responsibilities

  • Conducting their daily activities in a manner that will cause no injuries to them or their co-workers.
  • Attending safety meetings and completing all health and safety related training.
  • Completing all work in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) procedures.
  • Completing all documentation associated with daily maintenance activities, including work order hard copy completion, parts ordering (pick slip generation), and post maintenance documentation (where required).
