About The Position

Under limited guidance, assemble and test electronics systems for military applications. This role involves testing electronic boards, assemblies, and systems, performing precise RF measurements, identifying root causes of RF performance problems, and working directly with engineers on new product start-ups. The technician will be responsible for electronic assembly, testing, rework, and circuit board rework, including surface mount and through-hole components. They will also perform characterization, debugging, and repair of electronic systems and subsystems, and collaborate with design and test engineers to identify necessary equipment and test setups. Maintaining the laboratory environment and equipment, organizing and documenting test data, and participating in internal program reviews are also key aspects of the role. Obtaining and retaining a government security clearance may be required.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in RF test equipment
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows
  • Experience in hand soldering and familiar with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards
  • Testing and troubleshooting circuit boards and electrical systems

  • Electromechanical assembly
  • Cable assembly build/design experience

Responsibilities

  • Test electronic boards, assemblies and systems (including RF, power, digital)
  • Perform precise RF measurements using specialized equipment such as spectrum analyzers and network analyzers
  • Identify root causes of RF performance problems
  • Work directly with engineers on new product start-ups
  • Responsible for electronic assembly, testing, and rework
  • Responsible for circuit board rework, including surface mount and through-hole components
  • Perform characterization, debugging and repair of electronic systems and subsystems
  • Collaborate with design and test engineers to identify equipment or test setups for testing or characterization of components and subassemblies
  • Maintain laboratory environment and equipment including test equipment
  • Organize, document, and present test and other data packages for review
  • Reading schematics and troubleshooting boards to the component level
  • Document test procedures, results, and troubleshooting steps
  • Participate in internal program reviews as required
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level necessary to perform the duties of the position.
