Provides specialized engineering expertise and technical expertise for the day-to-day performance and operation of electrical systems for the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal vessels and shoreside charging infrastructure. This includes grid connection and power distribution, charging systems, charging communication protocols, battery energy storage systems, vessel propulsion and motor drives, and all automation and control systems. The role involves responding to critical incidents, diagnosing and resolving complex electrical and control system issues, and identifying opportunities for improvement. It also includes developing and maintaining asset management plans, providing technical advice to various stakeholders, conducting technical evaluations, and optimizing charging strategies. The position requires translating complex electrical systems into clear concepts for non-technical partners.
