Electrical Senior Technician - Tiered Sign-on Bonus up to $5,000
About The Position
The Physical Plant division of Wake County General Services Administration is seeking qualified applicants for their Electrical Senior Technician position. This First shift position will be responsible for completing the repair or replacement of fire alarm systems as well as electrical, emergency power and related devices in Wake County facilities. The role involves assisting with Fire Alarm routine testing and repairs, performing preventive maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability of building infrastructure, and assisting in performing required testing of electrical, emergency power, fire alarm and related systems. The technician will also complete routine, preventative maintenance as well as emergency work orders as assigned, including power outages, fire alarm troubles, and generator failures. Additionally, the role includes monitoring work progress completed by contractors and entering information on work orders, including time, materials, and field notes on maintenance and repairs, into GSA's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). A criminal background and credit check will be conducted.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of experience in electrical maintenance
- Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted
- Knowledge of commercial building electrical distribution systems
- Ability to read blueprints, work orders and various schematics
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations
- Ability to work cooperatively with other trades staff
- Proven problem solving and decision making skills
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Effective time management skills
Nice To Haves
- NC Electrical license or the ability to obtain within one year of employment.
- Nicet level 1
