About The Position

Applied Materials’ AGS OCE Department is seeking an intern for Summer 2027. AGS OCE supports customers and develops solutions for field issues. The intern will assist with laboratory projects, including developing test fixtures for electrical and radio-frequency projects such as testing DC/RF power supplies and impedance matching networks. The role also involves troubleshooting and functionality testing with project owners, developing programs such as LabVIEW applications to automate laboratory measurement instruments, and supporting experimental data acquisition, processing, and simple to moderate data modeling.

Requirements

• Be pursuing a master's or Ph.D. degree in a science or engineering field.
• Be in good academic standing at the university; a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale is preferred.
• Have a good understanding of analog and digital electrical circuits.
• Have hands-on experience with basic measurement and troubleshooting at board and module levels.
• Have good LabVIEW programming skills.
• Have practical experience in serial communication and data acquisition programming, including familiarity with serial communication protocols and structures such as RS232/485.

Nice To Haves

• Training in power electronics and familiarity with circuit simulation tools such as LTSPICE.
• Knowledge of plasma physics and related laboratory experiments.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience in data processing and modeling.
• A GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing laboratory test fixtures for electrical and RF projects, including testing DC/RF power supplies and impedance matching networks.
