About The Position

The purpose of the Electrical Quality Control Inspector (QCI) at Sky Eye is to support the electrical division with a systemized, comprehensive inspection of our projects with the intent of ensuring that the highest level of quality is achieved. The Quality Control Inspector will work closely with the Electrical Supervisor and Journeymen Electricians to ensure that project components are constructed to internal/external specifications and code requirements.

  • Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code, manufacturer specifications, and other applicable regulatory bodies and standards for hazardous locations.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with E/I manager or Supervisor after construction kick-off meeting to review Electrical and Mechanical drawings, Project scope, and customer specs.
  • Build Electrical Quality Form inspection packages for each project.
  • Ensure that installations for hazardous locations are compliant with the Canadian Electrical Code, manufacturer specifications, and all other applicable regulatory bodies and standards.
  • Capture feedback from construction to improve BOM's/design/standards.
  • Ensure QC station checklists are filled out and entered in the appropriate folder within the current storage platform.
  • Communicate with shop crews to schedule QC inspections once each stage of construction is completed.
  • Go through loop checks with the lead of the job.
  • Work with and communicate with testing to ensure all lessons learned and red lines are captured and relayed to the electrical group.
  • Ensure red line/as built drawings are correctly completed and submitted to Electrical Drafting as soon as possible.
  • Report all non-compliant drawings, equipment, and installations to the appropriate management team members in Design, Projects, and Electrical.
  • Relay deficiencies/mistakes to the electrical team in person and via email for everyone to learn from.
  • Perform basic testing of electrical components prior to F.A.T. testing.
  • Assist Field Services personnel with F.A.T. testing and troubleshooting when required.
  • Conduct electrical unit walkdowns with project management and shipping specialist prior to project shipping.
  • Photograph all electrical components after construction and inspections are complete.
  • Complete Electrical signoffs at the end of construction and inspections for the client turnover package.
  • Assist with pre-delivery checklists and shipping when available.
  • Participate in project lessons-learned meeting or emails.
