We are searching for an Electrical Panel Builder to join our team of innovative and passionate individuals who are powered by their passion for service delivery. A successful Electrical Panel Builder will strive for excellence in electrical panel fabrication. The Panel Builder works directly from electrical schematics and panel layout drawings to build and wire the control panels that run our automated storage and retrieval systems. The work spans both high-power and low-power wiring — from 3 phase AC distribution, disconnects, breakers, transformers, motor starters, and variable frequency and servo drives, through 24 VDC control circuits, PLC I/O, safety circuits, sensors, and network cabling. This role is an integral part of our client-focused business model as clients are the foundation of our business. Requirements

  • 2+ Years of Experience building industrial electrical control panels or control cabinets
  • Proven ability to build directly from electrical schematics, panel layout drawings, and bills of material
  • Hands-on experience wiring both high-power (120/240/480 VAC) and low-power (24 VDC control) circuits
  • High school diploma or GED; electrical or industrial maintenance trade school coursework is a plus
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, torque tools, wire strippers, and crimping tools
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Lifting items up to 35-lbs
  • Ability to use and understand metric/standard tape measure

Nice To Haves

  • High power: landing incoming power, main disconnects, fuses, transformers, contactors, motor starters, and VFD or servo drives, including correct wire and lug sizing, torque specifications, grounding and bonding, and phase rotation checks
  • Low power: 24 VDC control distribution, PLC digital and analog I/O, safety relays and E-stop circuits, photo-eyes and proximity sensors, ferrule terminations, and shielded or network cabling (Ethernet, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, CANopen)
  • Familiarity with UL 508A, NFPA 79, and NEC requirements for industrial control panels is a plus
  • Experience verifying panels with a digital multimeter through point-to-point continuity checks and powered functional testing

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for building complete control panels from electrical schematics and layout drawings, including back-panel layout, DIN rail and wire duct installation, and component mounting in accordance with work instructions
  • Responsible for routing, cutting, labeling, and terminating high-power circuits — 3 phase distribution, disconnects, fuses, transformers, contactors, motor starters, and drives — using the wire gauge, lug size, and torque specifications called out on the prints
  • Responsible for wiring low-power control circuits including 24 VDC distribution, PLC I/O, safety circuits, sensors, and communication cabling
  • Responsible for ensuring every conductor is stripped, landed, and labeled to the wire numbering standard so the finished panel matches the drawings
  • Responsible for verifying completed panels with point-to-point continuity checks and red-lining drawings when discrepancies are found
  • Responsible for ensuring correct hardware/items are being used when assembling components
  • Safety conscious with extreme respect for company safety rules and guidelines, including lockout/tagout and arc flash awareness
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area
