About The Position
Motor City Wash Works is seeking energetic and motivated Panel Builder candidates for its Northville facility. The role involves assembling electrical panels from assembly drawings and electrical schematics, identifying and installing electrical components, fabricating enclosures, wiring panels, programming VFDs, and testing panels for functionality. The employee is also expected to work in a healthy team environment and assist others as needed.
Requirements
- Electrical or technical experience, with 5 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer knowledge.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate hand tools, including cordless drills, wrenches, screwdrivers, knockout punches, hole saws, and wire strippers.
- Knowledge of layout and fabrication.
- Overtime and weekend work are sometimes required.
Responsibilities
- Read assembly drawings and electrical schematics to perform electrical assembly.
- Identify electrical components, including breakers, disconnect switches, starters, relays, timers, and overloads.
- Lay out DIN rails and components according to drawings.
- Fabricate enclosure cut-outs.
- Drill and tap panel back plates and install components.
- Wire panels point to point using various wire sizes.
- Rig and set backplates.
- Program VFDs.
- Test panels for functionality.
- Work in a healthy team environment and assist others when able and as needed.
