About The Position
Skana Aluminum Company is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician for their facility in Manitowoc, WI. This role involves working on complex industrial equipment that produces high-quality aluminum coils. The position offers autonomy and variety for skilled tradespeople, with no two days being the same. The technician will be responsible for keeping machinery running and ensuring maximum uptime and reliability.
Requirements
- 3+ years of electro-mechanical experience in an industrial maintenance setting required
- Strong understanding of LOTO and general safety processes
- Experience with heavy industrial equipment (cranes, forklifts, presses, furnaces)
- Familiarity with PLCs and VFDs
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and think fast in a dynamic environment
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- A team-player mindset with a commitment to quality workmanship
Nice To Haves
- Machining experience a plus
Responsibilities
- Proactive and preventative maintenance to maximize uptime and machine reliability
- Diagnosing and repairing electronic circuits, relays, transformers, and other electrical components
- Troubleshooting PLCs and VFDs
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing automatic controls, generating equipment, large switchboards, motors, rollers, and complex gear reducers
- Reading and applying blueprints and schematics (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic) for new construction and troubleshooting
- Rigging and rebuilding machinery — assembly and disassembly of major components
- Working safely in confined spaces and demanding industrial environments
- Following strict LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and safety procedures at all times
