About The Position

The West Michigan Construction Institute (WMCI) is seeking a Part-Time Electrical Instructor to join their team. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to apprentices in the Level 2 and Level 3 Electrical Apprenticeship Program. The instructor will connect real-world electrical experience with practical application, helping apprentices build technical knowledge and confidence. This is a hands-on, evening-based role.

Requirements

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license required.
  • Minimum of five years of field experience in the electrical trade.
  • Strong, current understanding of the National Electrical Code.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to adult learners is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging Mike Holt curriculum and reinforce National Electrical Code (NEC) concepts.
  • Foster a professional, respectful classroom and lab setting.
  • Lead hands-on lab activities that reinforce key electrical concepts, tools, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
  • Participate in required professional development days and uphold WMCI's standards for safety, instruction, and program delivery.
