About The Position

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a motivated Electrical Helper/Apprentice to assist electricians with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment. The employee will handle, supply, and hold materials and tools, help with wiring and conduit work, transport supplies to job sites, and clean work areas and equipment. The role may involve working at multiple job sites and in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, including inclement weather, confined spaces, and elevated locations.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of electrical experience in a commercial or industrial environment, or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
• Must have required hand tools.
• Ability to multitask, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, pay attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug screen and may need to complete additional background checks, such as DMV or criminal history checks.
• Must adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Must be available and have the means to report to multiple assigned job sites.
• Ability to work aloft; climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand and walk for extended periods; and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and to reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to identify all colors of color-coded cables and wires, and to see close and at a distance, perceive depth, use peripheral vision, and adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Drill holes and pull or push wiring through openings using hand and power tools.
• Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment, and keep parts and supplies organized.
• Transport tools, materials, equipment, and supplies to work sites.
• Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation, and tighten connections using hand tools.
• Perform semi-skilled and unskilled labor related to installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.
• Clean work areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
