About The Position

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a motivated, career-minded Electrical Helper/Apprentice to assist electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. The role includes supplying or holding materials and tools, performing semi-skilled and unskilled labor, and cleaning work areas and equipment. This position has no supervisory responsibilities and may involve work at multiple job sites, travel that is typically not overnight, and varied indoor and outdoor conditions.

Requirements

• One year of electrical experience in a commercial or industrial environment, or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
• Must have the required hand tools.
• Ability to multitask, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, pay attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Must pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screen and may need to complete additional background checks, such as DMV or criminal history checks.
• Must adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Must be available and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned.
• Ability to correctly identify all colors of color-coded cables and wires, with close and distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including working aloft, climbing, bending, pulling, reaching overhead, standing or walking for long periods, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Prior military experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Drill holes and pull or push wiring through openings using hand and power tools.
• Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment, and keep parts and supplies in order.
• Transport tools, materials, equipment, and supplies to job sites.
• Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation, and tighten connections using hand tools.
• Perform semi-skilled and unskilled labor related to installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.
• Clean work areas and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
