Electrical Hardware & AI Integration Engineer

Broadcom•Fort Collins, CO
•$59,000 - $74,700

About The Position

Broadcom's GTO team is seeking an Electrical Hardware & AI Integration Engineer to bridge IT infrastructure and Design Engineering business units. The role provides hands-on expertise in hardware design and power electronics, while using emerging AI technologies to accelerate engineering workflows, automate circuit analysis, and optimize hardware development lifecycles. The engineer will work with design engineering teams to translate hardware requirements into scalable IT solutions; evaluate performance margins for automotive- and aerospace-grade hardware; identify and implement AI tools for engineering tasks; support mixed-signal hardware and PCB development; perform board bring-up and validation for high-speed digital systems; and develop embedded firmware for closed-loop control and power regulation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • Mastery of Cadence PSpice, Altium Designer, LTSpice, and KiCad.
  • Strong foundations in Python, C/C++, and Matlab.
  • Deep understanding of power and signal integrity, FMEA, and communication protocols including SPI, UART, and CAN.
  • Proven experience in fast-paced environments such as startups or research labs, handling satellite communications, power converters, or high-speed digital systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams or professional organizations, such as IEEE or FSAE-Electric.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with power electronics, including buck, boost, and flyback converters, and semiconductor device characterization.
  • Familiarity with safety-critical systems such as Brake System Plausibility Devices (BSPD).
  • Ability to conduct formal design reviews and peer evaluations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical liaison between GTO and design engineering teams, translating complex hardware requirements into scalable IT solutions.
  • Use Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA) and sensitivity analysis to evaluate performance margins for automotive- and aerospace-grade hardware.
  • Identify and implement AI tools to automate repetitive engineering tasks, including electronic component modeling and signal-integrity data analysis.
  • Support mixed-signal hardware development, including schematic design, component selection, and multilayer PCB layout.
  • Perform board bring-up and validation for high-speed digital systems, using programmable PNAs and high-bandwidth oscilloscopes to verify system requirements.
  • Develop and tune embedded firmware in C/C++, Python, or MicroPython for closed-loop control systems and power regulation.

Benefits

  • Discretionary annual bonus.
  • Competitive new-hire equity grant and annual equity awards, subject to applicable plan documents and award agreements.
  • Medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • 401(k) participation with company matching.
  • Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Company-paid holidays.
  • Paid sick leave and vacation time.
  • Paid Family Leave and other leaves of absence in accordance with applicable laws.
