AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This role provides full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. The engineer will be the primary engineering resource for their region, providing technical advice and engaging with diverse teams to troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures. They will directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, and event support. The role involves owning the conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions to add capacity, improve availability, increase efficiency, and sustainability. The engineer will interface with internal teams such as data center operations, design engineering, server hardware, and environmental health and safety to promote standards. They will develop innovative solutions, work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions, initiate and lead engineering audits, and act as a resident engineer during new construction projects, supporting construction, commissioning, and turnover.
