Electrical Engineering Intern
About The Position
DwyerOmega is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. The internship is based on-site in Michigan City, Indiana, runs from May through August 2027, and is full-time. The intern will gain hands-on engineering experience by working closely with experienced engineers and contributing to design, testing, and sustaining projects. The position operates in both office and manufacturing environments. Work is primarily at an office workstation, with occasional visits to manufacturing production areas where machinery, mechanical equipment, and other manufacturing conditions may be present. Appropriate personal protective equipment may be required in designated areas.
Requirements
- Remain stationary and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Frequently stand and walk throughout office, manufacturing, and lab environments.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Use hands and fingers to operate computers.
- Visually observe and assess equipment, materials, processes, and surrounding work areas.
- Move safely throughout manufacturing and office facilities.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Assist with sustaining existing products by troubleshooting issues, testing alternative designs, and implementing enhancements.
- Perform electrical and environmental tests to validate design concepts and verify product performance and reliability.
- Participate in brainstorming and collaborate with the design team on new product development, providing input and feedback.
