About The Position

This posting is for Summer 2027 Internship opportunities. IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern in Scottsdale, AZ. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings while working closely with experienced engineers and consultants on real project work. In this role, you'll support project documentation, coordination, and job site observations while collaborating with cross-functional teams to help meet project goals and client expectations. You'll contribute to work serving education and related building markets, advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

Requirements

Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
Strong interest in design consulting
Previous exposure to CAD and/or BIM software
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Nice To Haves

Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

Responsibilities

Assist with designing discipline systems in accordance with code and company standards.
Research commercially available equipment and resources to support project needs.
Support client relationships and maintain project design documentation for permanent record files.
Coordinate design and scheduling with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers.
Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check.
Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
Conduct periodic job site observations and support other services required by the contract services agreement.
Work within the project's monetary budget and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
