About The Position

SSOE is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. This is an onsite position based at the Atlanta office; remote and hybrid work are not available. The intern performs assigned tasks under close supervision, receives detailed instructions, and learns department standards, methods, and procedures related to their field of study. The role involves applying knowledge of power and low- and medium-voltage electrical designs and CAD tools. Occasional travel may be required. Team members will be trained on Microsoft Copilot and encouraged to use it as a core everyday work tool. The stated pay range is $20–$23 per hour, depending on year in school.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering school, majoring in Electrical Engineering or a technically related discipline.
• Demonstrate organizational skills.
• Have a valid driver's license; this requirement may be waived for international assignments.

• Rising Junior or Senior academic year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned tasks under the close supervision of the Department Manager or designee and follow specific, detailed instructions.
• Apply knowledge of power and low- and medium-voltage electrical designs and CAD tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, or other 3D-based design software.
• Learn and use department standards, methods, and procedures relevant to the field of study.
• Meet deadlines for daily duties and special projects assigned by the Department Manager or designee.
• Help deliver quality work on schedule and within budget in a team environment.
• Travel occasionally, as required.
