  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience designing electronic hardware and PCBs.
  • Hands-on PCB schematic capture and layout experience using Altium Designer, OrCAD, Cadence, KiCad, or similar ECAD platforms.
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, mixed-signal electronics, power electronics, signal and power integrity, EMC/EMI design considerations, and microcontrollers or embedded systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and interpret electronic schematics.
  • Experience performing PCB bring-up, testing, debugging, and validation.
  • Proficiency using common electronic laboratory and test equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root-cause-analysis skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing electronics for automotive, propulsion, test and measurement, industrial, or other highly engineered products.
  • Experience with communications interfaces such as CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, and UART.
  • Familiarity with embedded firmware development.
  • Experience with FPGA-based systems.
  • Knowledge of IPC standards and Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/DFA) practices.
  • Experience supporting a product from initial concept through prototype, verification, production release, and lifecycle support.
  • Understanding of automotive functional-safety, EMC, reliability, and environmental requirements.
  • Experience working directly with PCB fabrication and electronics manufacturing suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Design analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power-electronics circuits.
  • Develop PCB schematics, layouts, and supporting design documentation for the AM2 platform and future products.
  • Select electronic components based on performance, availability, reliability, lifecycle, and cost requirements.
  • Perform circuit analysis, simulation, component evaluation, and design reviews.
  • Apply design practices for signal integrity, power integrity, EMC/EMI, thermal performance, and reliability.
  • Ensure PCB designs meet performance, manufacturability, cost, quality, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with PCB fabrication and assembly partners during prototype and production builds.
  • Support board bring-up, debugging, design verification, and validation.
  • Contribute to new product development and enhancements to existing A&D platforms.
  • Translate product and system requirements into hardware architectures, designs, and technical specifications.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, design reviews, risk assessments, and verification activities.
  • Support engineering technology roadmaps for future test, measurement, and control systems.
  • Help transition electronic designs from concept and prototype through production release.
  • Develop test plans and execute hardware verification and validation activities.
  • Troubleshoot electronic circuits, PCB assemblies, interfaces, and integrated system issues.
  • Perform structured root-cause analysis and develop corrective actions.
  • Use laboratory equipment to support testing and troubleshooting.
  • Support EMC/EMI, environmental, reliability, and product qualification testing as required.
  • Partner with software and firmware engineers to integrate electronic hardware and embedded systems.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers on packaging, connector interfaces, thermal management, and manufacturability.
  • Support manufacturing and quality teams during prototype builds, production launches, and issue resolution.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve component, PCB fabrication, and assembly issues.
  • Provide technical input during engineering design reviews and customer-facing project discussions.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, PCB layouts, bills of materials, design specifications, test plans and procedures, verification and validation records, and engineering change documentation.
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with A&D configuration-management and engineering-change-control processes.
