About The Position

Join Sikorsky’s cutting-edge Flight Controls Autonomy & Electrical (FCA&E) organization as a System Integration Lab Engineer in Stratford, CT. In this hands-on role, you’ll drive the design, integration, and verification of high-fidelity hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) and closed-loop test facilities within our System Integration Laboratories (SILS). Collaborate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, while supporting flight control autonomy projects for leading aerospace applications. This position offers exposure to advanced systems engineering, continuous improvement initiatives, and the opportunity to shape the future of flight technology.

Requirements

  • 15 years’ experience as an electrical engineer, with a focus on hardware integration and system test environments.
  • Proficiency with real-time simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, and NI VeriStand.
  • Strong understanding of signal conditioning, power distribution, and data acquisition systems.
  • Skilled in developing schematics and block diagrams with industry-standard engineering design tools.
  • Experience managing parts logistics, inventory, and vendor coordination.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards and specifications including Arinc-429, MIL-STD-1553, DO 160, MIL STD 810, ARP 4754.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced experience with laboratory infrastructure planning, including power distribution and network cabling.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and process optimization within laboratory environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and test HWIL and closed-loop configurations, ensuring alignment with Sikorsky standards and safety protocols.
  • Integrate hardware from subsystem teams, manage interface control documents, and coordinate wiring, power, and data connections.
  • Participate in technical meetings, provide status updates, and contribute to deliverables for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track risks and issues at the laboratory level, maintain issue logs, and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
  • Capture KPIs, generate reports, and assist in creating dashboards to reflect lab progress and resource utilization.
  • Support procurement of capital equipment, facility modifications, and planning for power, network, and cooling infrastructure.
  • Manage logistics for lab parts and consumables; maintain inventory records and coordinate with vendors and supply chains.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, update work instructions, and adopt new methodologies to enhance lab efficiency.
  • Produce and maintain engineering documentation, including schematics, diagrams, procedures, and lessons learned.
  • Develop detailed schematics and system block diagrams using tools like Visio, Mentor Graphics, Zuken, and Siemens NX/3DX.
