About The Position

Join Sikorsky’s Flight Controls Autonomy & Electrical (FCA&E) team as a System Integration Lab Engineer in Stratford, CT. This hands-on position is pivotal in designing, developing, and integrating state-of-the-art test facilities that enable hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) and closed loop testing for next-generation aerospace systems. You’ll work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, collaborating with industry leaders and driving continuous improvements in lab productivity and capability.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 4 years using Zuken for schematic and block diagram development.
• Proven expertise in designing, developing, integrating, and verifying test facilities for HWIL and closed loop testing.
• Strong background in test bed design, hardware integration, and laboratory infrastructure planning.
• Proficient in real-time simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, NI VeriStand).
• Experienced in logistics management for lab setups—ordering, tracking, and vendor coordination.
• Familiarity with aerospace standards (Arinc-429, MIL-STD-1553, DO 160, MIL STD 810, ARP 4754).

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Siemens NX/3DX, Mentor Graphics, and Microsoft Visio.
• Ability to author comprehensive engineering documentation and process improvements.
• Exposure to continuous improvement initiatives in test lab environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and integrate HWIL and closed loop test facilities within the System Integration Laboratories (SILS), ensuring compliance with safety standards and design specifications.
• Develop detailed schematics and system block diagrams using industry-standard tools (Microsoft Visio, Mentor Graphics, Zuken, Siemens NX/3DX).
• Integrate hardware from subsystem teams; manage interface control documents; coordinate wiring and power/data connections across engineering groups.
• Oversee logistics for lab setup, including ordering, receiving, and tracking equipment and consumables; maintain accurate inventory records.
• Support facility infrastructure planning—power distribution, network cabling, shielding, and cooling.
• Collaborate in technical interchange meetings; provide clear status updates and contribute to deliverables for internal/external customers.
• Capture and report key performance indicators (KPIs), generating concise status reports and metrics dashboards.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance test efficiency and data quality.
• Produce and maintain engineering documentation in alignment with Sikorsky’s configuration control requirements.
• Support procurement of capital equipment and facility modification projects.
