About The Position

Leidos has a job opening beginning in the Spring of 2026 for an Electrical Engineer Intern/Co-Op in Reston, VA. Work will consist of a wide range of project tasks to include: Research, analysis and design of electrical systems, components and circuits. Solving technical problems by developing solutions and processes. Primary Responsibilities: Creating/Updating CAD electrical diagrams, performing simulations, collecting data and documenting technical procedures for research projects. Conduct schematic analysis, layout reviews, and circuit design/redesign. Use CAD and other software for simulation development and execution. Participate in team meetings, contribute to design reviews, and work with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, pursuing a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or directly related field.
  • The student must be willing/able to take a semester off to work through the Spring (January-June) or Fall (June-December) semester.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph Security clearance.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Willing and able to relocate to Reston, Virginia, if needed.
  • Foundational knowledge in circuit analysis.
  • Proficiency in simulation software (MATLAB, etc)
  • Basic computer programming skills (Python, C/C++, etc).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, C/C++, Python or VHDL/Verilog
  • Foundational knowledge in either Chemical, Biological or Nuclear engineering.
