About The Position

Crosby Electric is expanding its presence in the Huntsville market by establishing a full-service electrical branch, building upon its existing Electrical Preventative Maintenance program (TEGG). This Division Manager will lead this initiative, working alongside Crosby leadership. The role involves spearheading the growth of the branch, managing daily operations, and fostering team development. The position will be instrumental in setting up a physical storefront and managing the Profit and Loss for the division. The primary service offered will be the TEGG electrical preventative maintenance program, requiring the candidate to fulfill roles similar to a TEGG Project Manager, including overseeing technicians, pricing work, and supporting sales efforts. The role also encompasses account management, estimating, purchasing, scheduling, manpower management, quality control, margin management, and project closeout.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively coordinate between electrical and other trades
  • 10 years electrical project management or general project management experience
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Desire to teach assistant project managers and field employees
  • Ability to multi-task responsibilities
  • Computer skills to include MS Word, EXCEL, Project Management platforms such as Procore, and ability to learn new software.
  • Pass background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

  • Office/Division leadership: Build a team, set up a physical storefront, and lead the team as it grows.
  • TEGG DES Responsibilities: Oversee daily operations of TEGG Technicians, price pull-through work for customers, and assist the North Alabama TEGG Sales Team in opportunity pursuit.
  • TEAM MANAGEMENT: Build and lead a team from the ground up, including hiring technicians, office staff, and eventually additional PMs and PEs.
  • DIVISION P&L MANAGEMENT: Responsible for setting and achieving divisional Profit and Loss.
  • Account Management: Lead efforts to maintain long-term owner direct relationships with new and assigned key accounts.
  • Estimating: Lead/assist with preconstruction activities required to backlog future work.
  • Purchasing: Issue purchase orders for equipment, materials, and subcontractors in a timely manner that does not jeopardize the project schedule.
  • Scheduling: Develop a plan for what is to be done, what resources are required, and when; coordinate with field superintendents, clients, general contractors, and subcontractors to meet timetables for completion of work. Ensure subcontractors are scheduled to complete their activities as required by the scope of work.
  • Manpower management: Work with trade superintendents to ensure the correct number of workers and the level of expertise required for each project is provided. Keep manpower projection sheets updated to allow field superintendents to plan their resources.
  • Quality management: Ensure that labor and materials meet client specifications; this includes site visits, reviewing drawings and specifications, and maintaining effective communication with the client.
  • Managing margins: Complete monthly billings, monthly job cost reports, and monthly manpower requirements to ensure profit margins are maintained according to estimates.
  • Project closeout: Prepare final as-built drawings, develop operation and maintenance manuals, establish warranty dates, complete punch list items, and collect final billings.
