About The Position

The Electrical Design Engineer 3 designs, develops, and sustains medical systems and devices. Working under limited supervision, the engineer analyzes hardware requirements and specifications to determine design solutions for Philips product components that meet performance and reliability standards. The role develops, executes, and documents test plans, design specifications, test results, procedures, and protocols to validate hardware designs, while conducting analyses throughout product development and maintaining records for reference and auditing.

The engineer works with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve hardware design issues, contributes to new product development using current technologies and novel methodologies, and supports hardware design improvements that enhance product quality, performance, and efficiency. This is an office-based role in Gainesville, Florida. Office-based teams work in person at least three days per week.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in System Architecture, System Design, Hardware Engineering, or an equivalent area.
• Skills in schematic simulation/layout, PCB design, MATLAB, embedded design, electromagnetic wave and RF theory/application, IEC 60601-1, ISO 13485, ERP systems, and PLM systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, or equivalent.
• Must be able to meet the position's minimum physical, cognitive, and environmental requirements, with or without accommodation.
• US work authorization is required; candidates who require visa sponsorship now or in the future will not be considered.
• Must reside in or within commuting distance of Gainesville, Florida.

Responsibilities

• Support hardware design improvements to enhance product quality, performance, and efficiency based on testing and evaluation.
