About The Position

Kent is looking for an Electrical Commissioning Technician for a Commissioning & Startup project in Port Arthur, TX. This position is posted for anticipated upcoming projects. Requirements

Minimum 5 years of Commissioning experience.
Trained and familiar with System Completions database including B and C check sheets.
Knowledge of best practice and procedures in line with large-scale industrial projects.
Fully trained in all Safety related subjects outlined by Company such as Environment Concerns, Safe Operations, Emergency Response, JHA, PTW, MOC.
Fully trained in Incident & Injury Free and fully understand the expectations, duties, and responsibilities.
Prior experience completing Pre-Commissioning/Commissioning activities as per project procedures.
Full understanding of Permit to Work systems, able to sign for work permits, lead the Toolbox Talk and ensure the JHA is fully understood by technicians and trainees.
NFPA 70E trained and certified.
Knowledge of P&ID and instrument loop diagrams.
Ability to communicate effectively across location, region and corporate to accomplish objectives.
Possess basic computer training such as Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Fully trained in Schematic and Single Line Diagram reading.
Fully trained in the use of hand tools, operation of test equipment.

Responsibilities

Solve problems using a combination of standard procedures, modification of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments and support junior technicians.
Set up and operate test equipment and record test data.
Able to commission LV and MV switchgear.
Knowledgeable in protection relays and protection control systems.
Able to read SLDs and wiring schematics.
Carries out electrical equipment installation inspections as per project check sheets.
Carries out electrical function test as per project check sheets and procedures.
Complete project check sheets activities.
Always demonstrate personal HSSE leadership and excellent HSE behaviors and ensure that safety expectations are communicated and maintained.
Attend all mandatory training as specified in HSE and Permit to Work training schedule.
Ensure submit daily the check sheets records of testing carried out.
Ensure all team members are fully aware and understand all the projects’ safe working practices and adhere to them to maintain a SAFE working environment.
Testing of LV & MV distribution boards and circuits.
Testing of motor control centers, motors, stop/start circuits, and associated overload.
Perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management, within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role.
