About The Position

Volt is immediately hiring an Electrical Assembly II (Electro-Mechanical Assembler) for a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer in San Diego, CA. This role involves performing electro-mechanical assembly, repair, and rework of transformers, power supplies, and magnetic assemblies in support of Patriot and Aegis radar systems. The position requires reading and interpreting detailed work instructions, engineering documentation, electromechanical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electronic schematics. Responsibilities include executing production hand-soldering operations, assembling and routing electrical and mechanical components, and inspecting assemblies for accuracy and compliance. The role also involves utilizing computer systems for documentation and data entry, supporting fabrication and repair activities, and maintaining a safe work environment. The job is full-time with a 9/80 work schedule and a 2nd shift (2:30pm-12am). Training may be conducted on the 1st shift.

Requirements

HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g., G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
Minimum 1 year of relevant assembly or manufacturing experience.
Minimum 1 year of production hand-soldering experience.
Experience reading and interpreting electromechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions.
Ability to use hand tools, measurement devices, and basic manufacturing equipment.
Basic computer skills and ability to learn internal production systems.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining quality standards.
Ability to lift, carry, or move components up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
Ability to work independently and effectively within a small, highly skilled team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workmanship quality.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

J-STD-001 soldering certification.
Experience in electro-mechanical assembly, wiring, or electrical testing.
Familiarity with defense manufacturing environments.
Experience working in AS9100 or ISO-certified manufacturing facilities.
Experience working effectively in a small, high-performing team environment.

Responsibilities

Perform electro-mechanical assembly, repair, and rework of transformers, power supplies, and magnetic assemblies in support of Patriot and Aegis radar systems.
Read, interpret, and follow detailed work instructions, engineering documentation, electromechanical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electronic schematics.
Execute production hand-soldering operations in accordance with Raytheon and industry standards.
Assemble, route, connect, and secure electrical and mechanical components using hand tools and measurement devices.
Inspect assemblies and completed work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with engineering specifications.
Utilize computer systems and internal software tools for documentation, traveler processing, and production data entry.
Support fabrication, modification, and repair activities in accordance with supervisor direction and technical documentation.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to all Environmental Health & Safety procedures.
Work primarily in a seated position with occasional standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, or climbing ladders/step stools as needed.
Lift, carry, or move components weighing up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
