About The Position

Electrical Apprentice - Levels I – IV | Multiple Openings Reports to: Journeyman / Foreman As a CS Erickson Electrical Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced electricians to gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge in the electrical trade. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will assist in installations, repairs, and maintenance projects while adhering to safety regulations and industry standards. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn and grow in a dynamic environment, contributing to the success of projects while honing essential skills for a successful career in the electrical field.

Requirements

  • All applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and must be enrolled (or willing to enroll as soon as reasonably possible) in an accredited apprenticeship program.
  • Apprentice I: 0 – 2,000 hours; Basic understanding of electrical concepts is a plus but not required
  • Apprentice II: 2,001 – 4,000 hours; Developing understanding of electrical systems and wiring principles
  • Apprentice III: 4,001 – 6,000 hours; Understanding of electrical systems and wiring principles
  • Apprentice IV: 6,001 – 8,000 hours; Solid understanding of electrical systems and wiring principles
  • Genuine interest in pursuing a career in the electrical industry
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to safety
  • Excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn
  • Physical stamina to work in various environments and lift heavy objects when required
  • Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions from experienced electricians
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work professionally with clients and colleagues
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 35 lbs
  • Must be able to work on feet for prolonged periods of time while using tools and perform repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Electrical Installations: Work alongside experienced electricians installing and connecting electrical systems, including wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and other components.
  • Support Repairs and Maintenance: Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues and executing repairs and maintenance tasks as directed by senior team members.
  • Read and Interpret Technical Diagrams: Learn to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics to effectively contribute to project execution
  • Learn Electrical Codes and Regulations: Familiarize yourself with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations to ensure compliance during all electrical work.
  • Operate Tools and Equipment: Safely handle and utilize various electrical tools and equipment under the guidance of experienced personnel.
  • Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Prioritize safety at all times and follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries on the job.
  • Develop Troubleshooting Skills: Enhance problem-solving abilities by learning how to identify and resolve electrical issues effectively.
  • Assist with Testing and Inspections: Participate in electrical testing, inspections, and quality control procedures to verify the integrity and functionality of installed systems.
  • Communicate Effectively: Maintain clear and open communication with team members, supervisors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
