About The Position

Piper Electric, a Crete United Company, is an electrical contractor serving the Denver metro area, specializing in commercial and industrial construction, service, and maintenance. The company is seeking a motivated Electrical Apprentice who has completed approximately one year of apprenticeship training and wants to expand field experience while working alongside experienced Journeyman and Master Electricians.

The apprentice assists with electrical installations on commercial and industrial projects under supervision, while developing technical skills through hands-on work and continued apprenticeship training. The role involves maintaining a safe and organized work environment, collaborating with project teams, tracking apprenticeship hours, and participating in required classroom training. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Requirements

• Must be registered in a State of Colorado-approved electrical apprenticeship program.
• Approximately one year of apprenticeship training completed (2nd year apprentice status).
• Basic understanding of commercial electrical installation practices and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic construction math.
• Familiarity with common electrical hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work, including bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working overhead.
• Reliable transportation to jobsites throughout the Denver metro area.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn.

Nice To Haves

• Previous commercial electrical experience.
• Experience bending conduit.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installing electrical systems on commercial and industrial projects.
• Pull wire, install conduit, and support equipment installations under supervision.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and basic electrical layouts.
• Measure, cut, bend, and install EMT, rigid, and PVC conduit.
• Install electrical devices, lighting fixtures, panels, and supporting equipment.
• Assist with terminating conductors and making electrical connections.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and jobsite equipment safely and properly.
• Follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Work collaboratively with foremen, journeymen, project managers, and fellow apprentices.
• Track apprenticeship hours and maintain required classroom participation.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and continuously develop technical skills.
