Requirements

Minimum three years’ experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex issues and performing heavy electrical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment
Experience performing megger and vibration testing and genset alignment
Experience installing and commissioning gensets
High school diploma or GED, required
Valid driver’s license
Excellent driving record and the ability to obtain a CDL and/or DOT certification
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
Excellent mechanical aptitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to interact professionally with customers and all of levels of personnel within the organization
Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Self-directed and well organized
Willingness to work additional hours as required and travel out of town, including out of the country to meet customers’ demands
Proficiency in the use of technical software, databases and manuals

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and diagnose complex level operational failures of generator sets, related equipment or industrial engines
Use medium voltage and/or reactive load bank equipment for the testing and repairs of generators
Perform megger, vibration, stack and span gas testing as required
Use reactive or resistive load bank equipment for the testing and repairs of generators
Install and commission large genset units with complex ATS
Perform heavy electrical repairs, alignments, and engine overhaul, generator or component repairs
Determine corrective action through the inspection of failed parts
Order replacement parts and services in a manner that promotes efficiency and effectiveness
Prepare parts returns, accurate and complete service reports, and other necessary reports and forms
Clearly and concisely document all work and repairs completed in a timely manner
Maintain work area, tools and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment
Perform other related duties as assigned
