About The Position

Responsible for the development of eDrive components for ENC’s current and future electric vehicles. This person will be working in the ePowertrain department to develop the systematical specification/requirement for eDrive system, leading the motor assembly and integration into the vehicle. This person should have a solid background in electric motor theory and application, i.e., mechanical and electric-magnetic knowledge of eMotor, efficiency map. The candidate should enjoy working on complex technical problems and delivering results that have a meaningful impact on our product. It is our belief that no complex problem can be solved optimally in isolation, so the ideal candidate should prefer to work in dynamic environments with cross-functional, diverse team members.

Requirements

  • Experience with electric vehicle integration and operation;
  • Experience with the commercial vehicle industry;
  • Experience with the electric motor assembly and manufacture;
  • Experience with the electric motor characterization, back-to-back speed durability and reliability test and production validation.
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar engineering field;
  • 5 years of experience with electrical machine, or electric drive product development;
  • Ability to solve problems, troubleshoot, and perform root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electric motor solutions for electric propulsion systems; being able to model, architect, and optimize a propulsion system;
  • Gather requirements for eMotor via internal customer, market demands, and competitive assessments;
  • Integrate, optimize the eDrive design with vehicle and motor control team;
  • Perform root cause failure analysis troubleshooting of eMotor system;
  • Identify and develop opportunities for product improvements;
  • Participate in field performance reviews and communicate technical knowledge to field support personnel;
  • Understanding electric motor losses and flux, develop test plans and perform measurements;
  • Lead the team to characterize the motor and operate the end-of-line (EOL) test;
  • Explore and design innovative motor technologies.
