The Town of Penetanguishene is a picturesque bilingual community with a population of approximately 10,000, located on the southerly tip of beautiful Georgian Bay. The Municipal Election Information Officer is responsible for providing front-line customer service and information to electors at the voting location during the Municipal and School Board Election. Reporting to the Returning Officer or designate, the Information Officer serves as the first point of contact for voters, helping to create a positive, accessible, and efficient voting experience while supporting the orderly operation of the voting location. The position assists electors by providing general election information, directing voters through the voting process, confirming they are at the correct voting location, managing voter flow, and responding to routine inquiries regarding voting procedures. The Information Officer promotes accessibility and customer service by identifying voter needs and directing electors to the appropriate election official for assistance, voter revisions, or ballot issuance. The role contributes to maintaining an organized, welcoming, and impartial voting environment while supporting compliance with the Municipal Elections Act, election procedures, and accessibility standards.
