EKG Technician - Cardiology Lab Orange - P/T Days
About The Position
UCI Health is seeking an EKG Technician for their Cardiology Lab in Orange. This is a part-time, day shift position. The EKG Technician will report to the Supervisor of the Cardiovascular Center and will be responsible for performing ECGs, Holter monitors, and data management. The role requires knowledge of complex cardiac arrhythmias and the technical expertise to perform electrocardiograms and Holter monitor testing. The technician will also assist in the stress lab, set up TEE when needed, and serve as the superuser for the ECG management system database, processing and teaching physicians to read ECGs online. Professional conduct, self-motivation, ability to work independently, and versatility are essential characteristics for this position.
Requirements
- Understanding of medical terminology, infectious control techniques and age related acuity levels.
- One year of experience in an acute care setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certificate of completion of Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia class.
- Willingness to travel between locations within the health system as needed.
- Knowledge of complex cardiac arrhythmias.
- Experience in recognition of arrhythmia.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Must be able to provide proof of work authorization.
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge of Title 22 and JCAHO standards.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese.
- Ability to instruct others in the use of equipment and performance of procedures.
