About The Position

The EKG technician assumes responsibility and accountability for performing electrocardiograms on customers ranging in age from infant to the aged. The EKG technician is responsible for processing EKGs performed by the Cardiovascular Laboratory and other departments in the hospital. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described within. The EKG Technician performs electrocardiogram (EKG) procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring heart conditions in patients. This role involves operating EKG equipment, preparing patients for procedures, and ensuring accurate recording and interpretation of cardiac data.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a recognized EKG training program or documented on-the-job EKG training.
  • At least one year of directly related patient care experience in a health care setting.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Holter Monitor scanning.
  • Experience in Stress Treadmill procedures.
