Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
3-5 years experience in the maintenance and/or operation of a process manufacturing facility.
In-depth knowledge of the production plant as an asset.
Experience with repairs and maintenance of processing equipment.
Strong background in electrical, HVAC, boiler, PLC and mechanical environments.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Hands-on, team-oriented and committed to business improvement processes.
Process-oriented mentality.
Strong problem-solving capabilities.
Strong knowledge in writing product specifications.
Experience and working knowledge on the following voltages: 24 V.DC; 120 V: AC single phase; 208/240 single phase and 208/240/480 V. three phase.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance tasks to support production operations in a fast-paced environment.
Program and verify operation of level sensors.
Program and verify operation of RTDs.
Program and verify operation of Flow Meters.
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and pneumatic/hydraulic problems on all plant equipment.
Work on, troubleshoot, install and program Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
Replace electrical motors.
Trouble shoot PLCs and the programs.
Load a PLC program into a new PLC.
Trouble shoot electrical circuitry/MCC.
Complete work orders in a timely manner to the highest quality standards.
Perform all tasks in accordance with company safety and GMP policies/guidelines.
Readily available for emergency repairs in breakdown situations.
Follow all required work safe practices. This would include lock-out tagout requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
May be assigned other tasks in addition to E & I Technician responsibilities.
Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP and SQF regulations.
Comply with GMPs in the plant.
Assist in the maintenance of Food Safety and Quality system.
