About The Position

Black Box is seeking a Data Center EHS Specialist to support construction of a major data center project. The role focuses on implementing safety practices and programs on-site, ensuring compliance with applicable OSHA regulations and Black Box’s Safety Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), and helping maintain safe project operations. The specialist will deliver training, inspect facilities, identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and verify that those actions are implemented. The position also maintains safety records and supports accident and injury investigations.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in the construction industry in a similar role.
Experience developing and implementing safety programs, conducting hazard mitigation activities, and supporting large-scale construction projects.
A bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or a related field, or a BCSP certification such as CSP, ASP, CHST, or OHST.
Excellent communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

Experience with large structured-cabling projects and/or data center construction projects; data center experience is preferred.
OSHA Outreach Trainer Certification for OSHA 10/30 Hour.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA regulations and Black Box’s Safety Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
Develop, implement, and deliver safety and orientation training programs.
Inspect facilities to identify existing or potential hazards, recommend corrective measures, and verify implementation.
Maintain safety documentation, including audits, inspections, Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and Safety Data Sheets (SDSs).
Participate in accident and injury investigations and support preparation of materials for hearings, lawsuits, and insurance cases.
Perform other duties as necessary.
