About The Position

At Black Box, the Data Center EHS Specialist will support construction of a major data center project, overseeing safety across project phases and deliverables. The role applies established PMO standards, processes, and methodologies to day-to-day operations and promotes safety and effective execution on-site. The position supports a large-scale construction project, with experience in structured cabling or data center construction preferred.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in the construction industry in a similar role.
• Experience developing and implementing safety programs, conducting hazard mitigation activities, and supporting large-scale construction projects.
• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field, or a BCSP certification such as CSP, ASP, CHST, or OHST.
• Excellent communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with large structured cabling projects and/or data center construction projects.
• Data center experience.
• OSHA Outreach Trainer Certification for OSHA 10/30 Hour.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA regulations and Black Box’s Safety Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
• Develop, implement, and deliver safety and orientation training programs.
• Inspect facilities to identify existing or potential hazards, recommend corrective measures, and verify implementation.
• Maintain safety documentation, including audits, inspections, Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and Safety Data Sheets (SDSs).
• Participate in accident and injury investigations and support preparation of materials for hearings, lawsuits, and insurance cases.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
