The Chemours Corpus Christi Site has an opening for an EHS & MT Administrative Assistant. This is a highly visible and critical role supporting the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Manufacturing Technology (MT) organizations. The position provides comprehensive administrative support to ensure regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and alignment with corporate and site requirements. This position will report to the EHS Manager. The primary purpose of the EHS & MT Administrative Assistant is to provide administrative resources and support to all members of the EHS and MT teams to ensure maximum productivity in performing their functions as dictated by regulatory agencies, the corporation, and the plant. The EHS & MT Administrative Assistant will maintain smooth day-to-day operation of the general office functions in a way that assures compliance with regulatory and Corporate requirements and deadlines in an efficient and timely manner that models the Corpus Christi site work environment initiative.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years’ experience as an Administrative Assistant or Associate’s Degree or higher in a related field
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and learning new computer software systems
  • Ability to multi-task and work with rapidly changing and competing work priorities
  • Experience generating effective written and oral communications in a professional environment
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform functions as necessary to manage the administrative demands in the general day-to-day operation of the EHS and MT groups
  • Calculate and maintain employee and contractor monthly exposure hours and enter data into Reliance
  • Send reminders to ensure regulatory, corporate, plant requirements, and deadlines are met in an efficient and timely manner
  • Prepare correspondence for EHS members to agencies and vendors
  • Update and maintain regulatory binders, permits books, and related documentation
  • Maintain proficiency in Reliance and input action items, compliance and observational audits, PCRs, PHAs, and edit PICs
  • Issue manual procedures as revised or reviewed for Safety How, Occupational Health, Emergency Response, and Design Guide
  • Compose and maintain monthly metrics for presentation during monthly EHS meetings
  • Maintain and oversee file keys and filing system for the EHS file room
  • Process invoices from agencies to ensure prompt and proper payment
  • Coordinate meetings and site visits including catering, conference room bookings, meeting invitations, and HBS requests for EHS & MT
  • Enhance skills and complete training as necessary to perform job responsibilities efficiently
  • Order safety supplies as needed for EHS and MT
  • Participate on plant committees
  • Compile thermal converter shutdown reports
  • Provide weekly reports to Operations on thermal converter downtime
  • Collect weekly VOC inspection sheets
  • Prepare monthly MSS Equipment Break Lists
  • Compile NaOH sampling data
  • Maintain logs for safety shoe and safety glasses purchases
  • Issue safety shoes and safety glasses to site personnel upon request
  • Ensure employees’ TWIC cards remain current
  • Track Emergency Response documentation for EHS Specialist
  • Issue site camera passes
