About The Position

The Environmental Specialist works with facility management to direct, implement, monitor, and manage environmental, health, and safety matters inside and outside the manufacturing facility. The role focuses on environmental compliance management, auditing, and inspection, and provides support for safety monitoring, training, and procedure implementation as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or another related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in Environmental, Health and Safety.
• Working knowledge of legislative obligations, including EPA SWPP, SPCC, Tier II, Title V, and NPDES, as well as company EHS policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of stormwater discharge sampling and documentation, emission control devices, and related compliance.
• Technical writing skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to interpret processes and procedures.
• Able to lift up to 35 lb.

• Experience working with local regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, management, and implementation of EHS programs, policies and procedures, compliance and risk assessment programs, and safety training.
• Administer and maintain company air, water, waste, and chemical activities and compliance programs.
• Perform environmental regulatory audits and advise the company on compliance with state, local, and federal environmental regulations.
• Investigate on-site incidents and property damage under the direction of the EHS Manager, and follow up to minimize future exposure.
• Advise on compliance issues and report violations to the EHS Part Leader and company leadership as needed.
• Perform other assigned duties.
