About The Position

Novolex’s Innovation Center in Bedford Park, Illinois, is seeking an energetic, passionate leader to oversee safety responsibilities along with employee relations, continuous improvement, and quality activities. The R&D shop operates on a 24/5 schedule.

The role leads local OSHA compliance and injury-prevention work, sponsors employee-led teams, engages associates, and monitors leading and lagging indicators. It develops, evaluates, and maintains health and safety policies and procedures to meet corporate and regulatory requirements, including procedures for safe operation, lockout/tagout, hearing conservation, and powered industrial trucks.

The position also administers environmental compliance activities, maintains relationships with external stakeholders, and conducts environmental audits and inspections. It recommends and facilitates corrective actions and manages local continuous improvement activities, including workflow systems, gauge inspection methodology, cost containment, and new-employee training.

Responsibilities

• Lead local OSHA compliance activities.
• Initiate, drive, and manage injury-prevention activities.
• Sponsor employee-led teams, engage associates, and monitor and manage leading and lagging indicators.
• Develop, evaluate, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures that comply with corporate and regulatory requirements, including Safe Operating Procedures, Lockout/Tagout, Hearing Conservation, and Powered Industrial Trucks.
• Administer environmental compliance activities, including tracking, reporting, and scheduling.
• Maintain effective relationships with regulatory and governmental agencies, vendors, suppliers, customers, and local occupational health clinics.
• Conduct routine audits and inspections of environmental procedures and controls, and recommend and facilitate corrective actions.
• Manage local continuous improvement activities, including workflow systems, gauge inspection methodology, cost containment, and new-employee training.
• Oversee employee relations, continuous improvement, and quality activities.
