About The Position

The EHS Coordinator is responsible for supporting and promoting a proactive safety culture. This position assists with the development, implementation, and administration of occupational health and safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state regulations, and company policies. The EHS Coordinator works closely with employees, supervisors, and management to identify hazards, reduce risks, investigate incidents, and maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related field. Preferably with a Concentration in Fire and Science, Oil & Gas, and/or Construction Safety.
  • Minimum of 5 years of safety experience in an industrial, manufacturing, chemical processing, mining, Oil & Gas, construction, laboratory, or research environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with EHS Data Management Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory, purchase, organize, and maintain PPE supplies.
  • Maintain Respiratory Protection Program compliance for all employees, including medical clearance, training, fit-testing, and respirator cartridge issuance and documentation.
  • Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Safety Polices & Procedures (SPP).
  • Assist in project Pre-Planning and JSA process.
  • Assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of the company's health and safety programs.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Support the management of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), chemical inventories, and hazardous material records.
  • Maintain safety documentation, training records, inspections, and compliance reports.
  • Conduct and document annual fume hood inspections
  • Conduct routine safety inspections
  • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and recommend corrective actions.
  • Track and follow up on corrective actions to closure.
  • Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate and facilitate safety training programs, including: New employee orientation, Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Lockout/Tagout, Forklift Safety, Fall Protection, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Compressed Gas Cylinders, Emergency Response
  • Investigate workplace injuries, near misses, property damage events, and environmental incidents.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare written investigation reports and communicate findings to management.
  • Assist with emergency response planning and drills.
  • Coordinate inspections of emergency equipment including: Fire extinguishers, Spill response supplies, Eyewash stations, Safety showers, First aid kits
  • Participate in emergency response incidents.
  • Purchase, repair, calibrate and maintain records for personal gas detectors.
  • Assist with hazardous waste management and regulatory reporting.
  • Support industrial hygiene monitoring programs related to: Air quality, Noise exposure, Chemical exposure, Respiratory protection
  • Participate in environmental compliance initiatives.
  • Assist during regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external audits.
