About The Position

As a casual educator in Uniting’s Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) program in Portland, you will help deliver high-quality education and care to school-aged children through after-school programs. You will provide nurturing care, maintain a safe and welcoming environment, and create inclusive recreational and educational experiences. You will build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, and collaborate with the team to support positive outcomes for children and the wider community. On-the-job training is available from the nominated supervisor and team.

Requirements

• An enthusiastic, engaging approach to childcare.
• Ability to form positive relationships with children and team members.
• Current National Child Safety Training and any applicable state-based child safety training, or ability to obtain these before commencement.
• Current first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis, and asthma certificates, or willingness to obtain them.
• Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one.
• A relevant educational qualification; the posting notes that several pathways may qualify, including a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, or Diploma of Community Services as qualifications equivalent to a Diploma in Early Childhood Education.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Early Childhood or experience engaging with children in some capacity.
