About The Position

Southeastern Louisiana University's Office of Technology invites applications for the position of Educational Technology Administrator. The Office of Technology is committed to supporting the core business processes of the university, particularly supporting online education. The Educational Technology Administrator serves as the primary administrator for Southeastern's Learning Management System (Canvas). In addition, the Educational Technology Administrator serves as the contact for elevated support cases. The Educational Technology Administrator is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to integrate technology effectively into academic programs, including the administration of the learning management system. The Administrator works closely with the Center for Faculty Excellence to support faculty and administrators in leveraging technology to achieve educational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university by hire date
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with technology/systems administration
  • Experience working with educational technologies, various forms of new media, and relevant subject-specific technology
  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and their integration within higher education environments

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Familiarity with higher education systems, including Student Information Systems (SIS), third-party LTI integrations, and accessibility compliance tools
  • Familiarity with higher education processes, such as term start and end-of-term workflows, academic checkpoint monitoring, and section cross-listing/merging
  • Track record of implementing successful educational technology initiatives
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly evolving technology and educational trends
  • Fiscally responsible with technology solutions
  • Experience developing and delivering professional development programs for faculty
  • Commitment to working with a diverse group of faculty, student workers and graduate assistants

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrator for Southeastern's Learning Management System (Canvas).
  • Serve as the contact for elevated support cases.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to integrate technology effectively into academic programs, including the administration of the learning management system.
  • Work closely with the Center for Faculty Excellence to support faculty and administrators in leveraging technology to achieve educational goals.
