About The Position
Carter Hears! is hiring an Educational Interpreter for the 2026–2027 school year. The organization partners with schools across the Southeast and beyond to support accessible learning experiences for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. The interpreter provides classroom interpretation and supports students’ comprehension and engagement, while working with teachers and assisting with hearing technology as needed.
Requirements
- Experience in educational interpreting.
- EIPA Written Test is required.
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher is required, or NIC is preferred.
- Background check, liability insurance, and TB test.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- NIC certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, developmentally appropriate classroom interpretation.
- Support student comprehension and classroom engagement.
- Monitor student comprehension, provide feedback to teachers, and assist with hearing technology as needed.
