Part Time Educational Developmental Aide
About The Position
Little Hands Learning Center is seeking a part-time Educational/Developmental Aide I to support early childhood education for children from birth to age five. The role performs routine instructional activities with individual children and groups, prepares instructional materials, and assists teachers with planning and coordinating classroom activities. Most of the work involves supervising children's play, meals, toileting, and rest periods. The aide also assists with meal preparation and performs some housekeeping duties. This position works 25–30 hours per week and does not include county benefits or holiday pay. Requirements
- Interest in and basic understanding of child growth and development to meet the physical, mental, and emotional needs of children from birth to age five.
- General knowledge of reading, writing, and arithmetic, and the ability to assist teachers in conveying this knowledge to children.
- Ability to establish rapport with children and their families.
- Ability to communicate with peers and teachers.
- At least one year of experience working with children or educational coursework, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
