About The Position

This position is located at Johnson Primary School, Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA), Americas Mid-Atlantic District, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Work is performed in a classroom setting. The Educational Aide supports students and classroom instruction by preparing materials, providing tutoring, assisting with testing, and supervising students.

Requirements

• Provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
• Meet suitability and fitness requirements based on a background investigation; the position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks because it involves interaction with children and youth under age 18.
• Have at least one year of qualifying general experience, defined as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that demonstrates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for the Educational Aide duties; or qualify through education or a combination of education and experience.
• Education may substitute for experience with two years (60 semester hours) of education above high school. A combination of education and experience may qualify when the calculated total is at least 100%.
• Meet one of the listed applicant eligibility categories.
• Provide evaluation of foreign degrees or coursework from non-accredited institutions when applicable.
• Use direct deposit for pay.
• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service.

Responsibilities

• Distribute and collect testing materials as needed by students.
• Grade work and provide testing results using identified scoring techniques.
• Monitor students during various phases of the school day.
• Prepare instructional materials related to classroom lessons.
• Provide tutoring to students in all subject areas.
• Accompany and supervise students on field trips.
