About The Position

This Educational Aide position is authorized for the 2026/2027 school year and is located at Maxwell Elementary Middle School, Department of Defense Education Activity - Americas, Southeast District, Maxwell AFB, Alabama. Work is performed in a classroom setting. The aide supports students and classroom instruction by preparing instructional materials, tutoring students across subject areas, assisting with testing, monitoring students during the school day, and supervising students on field trips.

Requirements

U.S. citizenship is required.
At least one year of qualifying general experience that demonstrates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for the duties; qualifying experience may be paid or unpaid.
Alternatively, qualify through education alone with 2 years (60 semester hours) of education above high school.
Alternatively, qualify through a combination of education and general experience totaling at least 100% of the requirements.
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service.
Proof of U.S. citizenship is required.
Direct deposit of pay is required.
Appointment is subject to a suitability/fitness determination based on a background investigation; a Tier 1 investigation with Childcare Checks is required.
Foreign degrees and coursework must be evaluated through an acceptable procedure before acceptance.
