About The Position

The Educational Aide supports the Academic Lab Manager and colleagues in Santa Fe College’s Nursing laboratories. Nursing Programs offers BSN and ASN degree programs, a bridge program for licensed practical nurses, and vocational courses in nursing assistant and practical nursing. The aide helps prepare and deconstruct laboratory activities and maintain a clean, safe lab experience. The position also provides a welcoming, professional point of contact for students and staff and requires careful handling of student records and other sensitive information in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and College policies.

Requirements

• Be a currently enrolled Santa Fe College Nursing student in good academic standing and taking at least six credit hours.
• Maintain a 2.5 GPA.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work successfully in a multicultural environment.
• Demonstrate adaptability, professional communication, customer service, ethics, organization and time management, problem-solving, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities.
• Undergo a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Support Nursing laboratories by preparing and deconstructing labs and maintaining a clean and safe lab experience.
• Greet, respond to, and direct students and staff in person and over the phone in a professional, helpful, and welcoming manner.
• Protect the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information in accordance with applicable state, federal, and College requirements.
• Comply with College rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws governing public employees, including document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality requirements.
• Provide courteous, informed, accessible, and professional service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
