About The Position

Brock University is seeking an Education Instructor for the course EDUC 4P19, "Integrating Assessment and Curriculum – Intermediate/Senior," within the Department of Educational Studies & Undergraduate Educational Studies. This is a part-time, contract position for the Fall 2026 academic term, running from September 9, 2026, to January 4, 2027. The instructor will be responsible for delivering course content, including in-person, blended, or online formats, and will engage in non-classroom work such as preparing materials, student consultation, marking, holding office hours, and course administration. The role requires commitment to responsible time management, punctuality, and availability for individual student consultations.

Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree (PhD, EdD) in Educational Studies, Educational Assessment, Teacher Education, Educational Psychology or a related discipline
  • Experience teaching classroom assessment, integrated curriculum and assessment, and educational measurement courses at the undergraduate university level
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum planning, instructional design and classroom assessment in elementary and/or secondary classroom settings.
  • Teaching documentation: evidence of teaching competence at the undergraduate university level, official student and peer evaluations; teaching dossier; and/or references.
  • Ability to work independently without immediate direct supervision.
  • Skills related to the incorporation of web-based pedagogical techniques, materials and resources in the teaching of the course, as required.
  • Competence in the use of email, Brightspace/D2L, internet, common office software (e.g. Word, Excel) and multi-media equipment.

  • Available for individual consultation with students (e.g. office hours 1.5 hours per week)
  • Active participation in curriculum development
  • Sharing of responsibilities in careful test preparation
  • Student assessment
  • Prompt and accurate marking
