About The Position

America Works of New York, Inc. is seeking an Education Coordinator who will support the Director of Education in the delivery, coordination, and continuous improvement of workforce development training programs. This role combines direct teaching responsibilities with curriculum archival support, data auditing, participant communication, and light promotional design. The Education Coordinator initially functions as a trainer with additional coordination duties and, following a successful 90-day probationary period, assumes expanded responsibilities in curriculum management, data quality control, and program communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Workforce Development, Social Services, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience teaching, training, or facilitating adult learners.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Comfortable working with data, attendance tracking systems, and digital learning materials.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in workforce development, adult education, or nonprofit training programs.
  • Familiarity with curriculum design, Learning Management Systems (LMS), or reporting platforms.
  • Basic design experience using tools such as Canva, PowerPoint, or Google Slides.
  • Experience supporting compliance processes or audit-related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver workforce development workshops and training sessions aligned with approved curricula.
  • Facilitate engaging, inclusive learning environments for adult learners with diverse backgrounds and barriers to employment.
  • Support curriculum updates by providing feedback based on classroom delivery and participant engagement.
  • Model professionalism, punctuality, and instructional quality consistent with organizational standards.
  • Assist with maintaining and organizing curriculum materials, lesson plans, slide decks, handouts, and facilitator guides.
  • Support archival work related to the course catalog, including version control, naming conventions, and documentation of updates.
  • Help ensure curriculum materials are accessible, current, and aligned with funder and employer expectations.
  • Participate in curriculum review cycles under the guidance of the Director of Education.
  • Audit attendance records for accuracy and completeness across assigned programs.
  • Identify discrepancies in attendance data and flag issues for correction in coordination with program and data staff.
  • Support quality control efforts related to compliance, reporting readiness, and internal audits.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data integrity at all times.
  • Respond to participant inquiries related to class schedules, attendance requirements, and training logistics.
  • Provide timely, professional written communication via email, text platforms, or internal systems.
  • Escalate complex issues or concerns to the Director of Education or appropriate staff as needed.
  • Support consistent messaging across programs to ensure clarity and participant engagement.
  • Assist in creating or updating simple promotional materials such as flyers, one-pagers, and training announcements.
  • Ensure promotional content aligns with approved curricula, branding guidelines, and program goals.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Education to support outreach for new or revised training offerings.
  • Focus on consistent, high-quality teaching and facilitation during the first 90 days.
  • Demonstrate reliability, curriculum mastery, and strong participant engagement during the first 90 days.
  • Learn internal systems related to curriculum storage, attendance tracking, and communication protocols during the first 90 days.
  • Take on increased responsibility for curriculum archiving and course catalog maintenance post-probation.
  • Assume a more active role in attendance auditing and quality control post-probation.
  • Provide expanded communication support and contribute more independently to promotional materials post-probation.
  • Participate in curriculum design and refinement efforts in collaboration with the Director of Education post-probation.
